Why Key Messages Matter

It's important to develop key messages to carry through all your marketing and PR activities. These messages reinforce your brand and how you stand apart form your competition.  The common thread is the benefit that you bring to your clients. For example, here are some key message points for a financial management firm:

•    We are your financial partner, strongly pro-active in financial planning for all life events.
•    Our solid client relationships stem from the time and personal attention that our partners personally devote to each and every   client.
•    Each client gets the personal attention of our entire team of partners. This translates into a breadth of services at our clients’ disposal, along with partner attention and accessibility.
•    We place great emphasis on educating our clients to put them in the best possible financial position.

To underscore your key messages, consider pairing your logo with a branding slogan in order to subtly reinforce the benefit you bring to your clients. Using the financial firm example the tagline might be:
   
When relationships matter
                or
 Navigating your financial landscape.

Your messages will resonate best in testimonials and case studies that illustrate the problems you’ve solved for your clients. Make good use of case studies in all your marketing efforts: on your website, in a video, in your marketing materials, and via social media.
