It’s a New Year—Time to Refresh Your Marketing

As far as New Year’s resolutions go, this is one I think is vital: don’t let your marketing get stale. Here’s a checklist I recommend reviewing every quarter to make sure your marketing stays fresh, relevant, and continues to bring in business opportunities. 

 

Take a Hard Look at Your Website

Does your website still represent who you are as a business? Are you hitting all your key messages so prospective clients will know who you are, what problems you solve and benefits you bring? To many people, their website is an afterthought, when in actuality it should be a persuasive tool that shows the strength of your expertise.

Keep Your Blog Updated

If you have a blog, are you keeping it fresh and relevant? A blog is a great way to give your clients valuable insight and demonstrate situations in which you can be of service. But you have to be consistent by continually adding fresh content.

Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile

A LinkedIn profile is practically standard these days, but so many people fail to utilize it effectively. Revisit your profile summary: does it describe how you are valuable and what problems you solve? Make sure to fill out your profile with relevant publications and use it as a place to feature new blogs.

Start that Newsletter

With multiple services that allow you to keep track of mailing lists and response rates to emails, it’s never been easier to start a monthly newsletter. This is an excellent way to push your blog out there, keep in touch with clients and stay top of mind.

Recharge Your Networking

Are you spending enough time with prospects and people you would like to meet? Reach out to them and try to get some one-on-one time. Think of whom in your network you can refer work to. If you belong to any organizations, get active in them and consider joining new ones as well. You may already have a very powerful network, but it’s not worth much if you don’t use it.

Get Revitalized!
